St Peter's Church Henfield

St Peters church Henfield

Description

The ancient parish church of Henfield was founded in 770 and set on high land above the River Adur (Henfield means high field). The mediaeval church was extensively rebuilt in 1871.   The glass is of high quality, much of it the work of Charles Eamer Kempe who was born in Ovingdean and lived at Henfield vicarage while designing and installing the church’s east window.
