South Downs Way

A view across the South Downs Way towards Devil's Dyke

Description

The South Downs Way is a 100-mile trail that follows the ridges of the South Downs, offering glorious views across southern England's countryside to the coast. The ends of the trail are Winchester and Eastbourne, and you can pick it up in Horsham District at Bignor, Amberley and Steyning to name a few. Sites along the route in Horsham District include Bignor Roman Villa, Chanctonbury Ring hill fort and the River Adur.

Every year there is an organised nine-day walk along the full trail in June. Visit the South Downs Way Annual Walk website for more details.
