Mother's Day is on Sunday 22 March, and we've got some ideas for treats that you may not have thought of before. Take a look and treat the lady in your life to an original gift experience this year.
Take on an escape room
Does your mum love a Puzzler? Ever tackled an escape room with your family? Book one of the four themed rooms at Tulley's Escape Rooms and see if you can escape in an hour by solving a series of logic puzzles! Whether you make a crack team or a total shambles, you'll be laughing, communicating and making memories. Debrief in Tulley's tea room afterwards, or head into Horsham Town Centre.
Learn as you drink
Sure, you could take Mum for a few glasses of wine, but why not couple that with a tour of the place it's made? Here in Horsham District we have Nutbourne and Wiston vineyards offering tours. If beer is more your thing, look to Firebird, which does tours on the 4th Saturday of every month, or Brewhouse Bar and Kitchen's masterclasses.
If you're mum is never happier than when she's exercising, join her in something active this Mother's Day. Whether it's a cycle ride on the Downs Link coupled with a pub lunch, paddleboarding with Southwater Watersports, or taking a leap of faith together at Go Ape Crawley, an active gift could be something the whole family enjoys.
Tea with a view
We couldn't possibly miss out afternoon tea, could we? Of course, there are plenty to choose from across the District, but for one with a bit of a difference book a Wey and Arun Canal boat cruise. Enjoy calming canal views (pictured) and tuck into either a cream tea if you book the afternoon trip or a coffee and pastry on the morning ride.
Animal antics for just £5
A little further afield, Drusillas Park has a fantastic offer for Mother's Day weekend - mums can enter the park for just £5, a real bargain. The popular attraction has hundreds of animals, fun children's rides and indoor and outdoor play areas.
