3 things to do with kids on a rainy day

The weather isn’t always reliable, and when it’s raining, it can be hard to find things to do last-minute if you had sunnier plans. So we’ve come up with some ideas to help you.

One thing you can do with children on a rainy day is pottery painting. With three different places to do this around the district, it’s a perfect activity. You can visit Little Gems, based in West Grinstead, for a fun day out, no matter the weather. You could also go to Mambo Jambos, in Squires garden centre in Washington. Alternatively, you can visit the Ceramic Shack in Horsham. All these places offer pottery painting and it’s a great activity that parents and kids can do together.

There is also a range of cinemas and theatres in the Horsham District, which can provide a great activity for a rainy day, with a variety of different films and shows for all the family to enjoy. These include The Capitol and The Everyman cinemas in Horsham, Christ’s Hospital Theatre and The REC Rooms. Further afield are Worthing Dome, Brighton Dome, Brighton Odeon, Cineworld Crawley and Ropetackle Arts Centre in Shoreham.

For something active, you could visit Pavilions in the Park, where you can go swimming with all the family. With a range of pools, and inflatable activities, this is perfect for a rainy day, no matter your age or swimming ability. If you’re looking for something different, you can go to The Rec in Horsham, where you can enjoy a game of bowling in a group with friends or family. It’s perfect for a day at the weekend or in the school holidays when you’re stuck for something to do.
